By now we all know that Kanye won the “shoe of the Year” award for his adidas Yeezy Boost , but footwear news also awarded recording artist Pharrell Williams, who won “Collaboration of the Year” award. Surprisingly, the award was earned on a collaboration that wasn’t done with adidas.
This year was the first year that Footwear News awarded someone the “Collaboration of the Year” award, and Pharrel Williams became the first artist to receive it by putting his imprint on the Bee Line for BBC x Timberland 6-inch “Honeycomb” boot. Pharrell Williams had a big hand in helping create the three-way collaboration concept. It was definitely a “think outside the box” design. Pharrell was not in attendance to receive the award but he did accept it via a video message thanking the organization for the award.
